The Internet is a vast world – as large as the physical world we live in, perhaps even bigger. In this page are websites I have come across and grown to love. Feel free to visit them as well.

Portals to Other Minds

These are links to other great bloggers out there and blogs I like to read when I have the time. Some of them I have come to know personally – in the confines that the web would allow, while some of them I have never had the chance to exchange so much as a hi or a hello. Still, I consider their blogs worth reading.

Get Informed

I believe education is the key to success. In every aspect of life, we need to learn all we can. In this page are various resources on things we should be educated about – from the upcoming Philippine elections in 2010 to the commonly taboo topic of sex.
Here are some great sites I have learned a lot from.

Philippine Elections 2010
I believe that democracy is best exemplified when citizens actually care for what their government is doing. That is when citizens take their part in being active in how they are governed. Elections are the primary ways to show this support and concern. I have compiled several links here that will help me learn more about the candidates in the upcoming Philippine Elections 2010. I hope you learn from them too.

  • Eleksyon 2010 || GMA News Official Website on the upcoming elections
  • Your Vox: Web Election Primer || A microsite intended for citizens to learn the basics of the election and to voice out their opinions
  • Eleskyon || A flash-based site offering basic information about the president, vice-president and senator hopefuls in the upcoming election
  • Youth Vote Philippines || Not that updated but it gives the basics on the candidates for election
  • PinoyVote! || Not that updated but it has great resource information on the various aspects of the political scene in the country
  • Comelec.ph || The official website of the Philippine Comelec

Sex

I believe that in the Philippines, sex is something practiced as frequently as in the West but not talked about. The country was once a very conservative country where sex was valued and not engaged in until marriage. But influences from the West have changed that perspective and now most people engage in it. But do not talk about it. Sadly, education is also limited. I do not promote pre-marital sex. I still believe that it is a sacred act which should be limited to the confines of marriage. But that doesn’t mean that it should be something scorned or designated as a taboo topic. In fact, education about it may just curb people’s appetite for it as they learn why it is sacred, and hence should be preserved.
Below are sites where one can learn about sex. These are not porn sites though and those seeking this should look elsewhere. However, I do not claim responsibility for the links these sites contain.
